Ants

If you've been residing for just a little while on Menorca, you will have noticed that ants are "everywhere". They are the most numerous type of animals on earth anyway.

Sometimes they live inside the bricks of the houses or under the floor.

Toxic chemicals and cruel traps may also turn out to be harmful for your pets or even for yourself.

What can you do?

There are non-toxic organic ant repellents, yet you may not find them in the local supermarkets.

Other options are:

- Put a cinnamon stick, coffee grinds, chili pepper, paprika, coves or dried peppermind leaves near the cracks of doors and windows.

- You might also consider to plant mint around the foundation of your house or

- place cloves of garlic around indoor and outdoor ant pathways.
