The cove of Binibeca, nowadays also spelt Binibèquer, is surrounded by modern buildings.
The beach is a 3 km stretch at the south coast of Menorca running from Cala Torrent in the east through the village of Binibèquer Nou (Nou = New) and onto Binibèquer Vell (Vell = Old).
It is 8 kilometers from Maó and belongs to the municipality of Sant Lluís.
The coastline from Cala Torrent to Binibèquer Vell has a number of small sheltered coves that are suitable for swimming, but the beach at Cala de Binibeca is definitely the best and also the most popular in the area.
Its shallow waters make it also quite safe for small children.
The big attraction is the replica of a Mediterranean-style fishing village of Binibèquer Vell.
This "old" mock fishing village features narrow cobbled pedestrianised streets lined with buildings done in the style of the traditional Menorcan architecture and offers a range of bars and shops:
