The horseshoe-shaped beach of Cala Galdana, sometimes also spelt Santa Galdana (Guad-al-Ana during the Moorish dominion), is 450 metres long and 45 metres wide.
It is located only a few kilometers from Ferrerias and about 40 minutes from the airport.
It has all the traditional facilities of an urban beach:
This 30-minute walk is about 2 kilometers.
You would start at the steps opposite the Hotel Audax and then take a well-worn path over the wooded cliffs heading west.
On the way there are a number of sign-posted view points down to paths that lead towards the coastline. (Taking these detours can add up to half a kilometer each to the walk).
Cala Galdana is also an easy access point to visit the spectacular Algendar Gorge (Barranc d'Algendar).
This ravine is about 6 kilometers long and cut out of one of the soft limestone plateaus so typical of Menorca.
After crossing the bridge, turn right at the car park.
The paved road pretty soon ends at a huge palm.
That is where Algendar Gorge starts.
