The talayotic village of Montefí comprises a sizeable archaeological area, where not only one, but three talayots have been preserved.
In the ruins of a fourth talayot man-made underground caves (hypogea), that served as necropolis, can be seen.
The principal talayot of the three is located to the south. It features a circular floor and, as an unusual characteristic, an internal chamber with a central column.
Getting there:
The settlement is very close to Ciutadella, near the new cementary, on the Camí Vell ("Old Way").
Coming from Ciutadella, turn right at the roundabout with an oversized woodem shoe.
If you come from the Ronda Sur, go towards Ciutadella at the roundabout that has a rectangular structure in it.
